Neste artigo, introduzimos primeiro a noção de precisão de textura dada a geometria 3D de uma cena. Em seguida, fornecemos um algoritmo para adquirir um mapa de textura/cor da cena com uma determinada precisão. O mapa de textura é obtido usando dispositivos projetivos (como dispositivos de detecção pinhole) a partir de dados adquiridos no mundo real ou sintetizados por computador.
