Acessos intensivos a um servidor web causam atraso na resposta e/ou suspensão do serviço. Propomos, para resolver o problema deste artigo, um modelo de serviço para servidores web baseado em controle de admissão e serviço de chamada em espera, que são abordagens comuns para projetar sistemas telefônicos. A arquitetura de software que consiste em um servidor front-end e servidores filhos também é projetada com base no modelo de serviço. Através da avaliação de desempenho para uma implementação da arquitetura, é mostrado que o rendimento geral se torna muito melhor, evitando a sobrecarga dos servidores web filhos. Concluímos que a arquitetura aumenta a flexibilidade de um software resultante com discussões do ponto de vista da extensibilidade.

Abstract: Intensive accesses to a web server causes its response delay and/or service suspension. We propose, to solve the problem in this paper, a service model for web servers grounded upon admission control and call waiting service, which are common approaches to designing telephone systems. Software architecture which consists of a front-end server and child servers is also designed based on the service model. Through performance evaluation for an implementation of the architecture, it is shown that the overall throughput becomes much better by keeping child web servers from overload. We drew a conclusion that the architecture enhances flexibility of a resulting software with discussions from the extensibility view.
