Este artigo propõe um novo método de recuperação de imagens de grandes bancos de dados de imagens. O método é baseado em VQ (Quantização Vetorial) de características de textura local em pontos de interesse detectados automaticamente em uma imagem. Os recursos de textura são extraídos pelo banco de filtros wavelet Gabor e reorganizados para rotação. Esses recursos são classificados por VQ e então constroem um histograma padrão. The texture features are extracted by Gabor wavelet filter bank, and rearranged for rotation. These features are classified by VQ and then construct a pattern histogram. Retrievals are performed by just comparing pattern histograms between images.
