Neste artigo, propomos um método para identificar a topologia de redes domésticas na camada de enlace, motivado por aplicações para redução de custos de centros de suporte. Se a topologia das redes domésticas puder ser identificada de forma automática e eficiente, será mais fácil para os operadores dos centros de suporte identificarem pontos de falha. Usamos tabelas de encaminhamento de endereços MAC (AFTs) que podem ser coletadas de dispositivos de rede. Existem alguns métodos para identificar uma topologia de rede usando AFTs, mas eles são insuficientes para nosso propósito; eles não são aplicáveis a algumas topologias de rede específicas típicas de redes domésticas.
